Their education is important, and so is their childhood. It is good to know about a person's life before you vote. I think it is important to cooperate with my team members because the speech writer needs all the information of the biography writer and the policy writer to actuallly write the speech. We did this by giving eachother all the information and making sure everything we put in our paragraph(s) was good.

Five things I learned about the role of a president during this project is that they have to work very hard just to become the president. This is important for campaigning because they have to work so hard and spend a lot of money. I learned that in voting you don't get the total amount of votes, you just get states. You should know this so when you get to vote you'll understand it. I learned that the president has to make some very hard decisions, and either way they might have people mad at them. The president is under a lot of preasure in these situations and it's important that he can think it through and make the right decision. I've also learned that the presidents never really get any free time, especially in times like these.

I think this was a fun project. It really helped me understand a lot more, and learn a lot more about the canidates. If I were going to describe this project to someone outside of school I would say that we had a group. Each group had to pick a canidate. Then you would have to be on a campaign, and write a biography, a speech, and a policy. I think that this projct would make me a better voter when I grow up becaus e now I will know to research the canidates before I vote.

Reflection by Alex

Reflection by Matt

My role in this was important in the overall campaign of Barack Obama by telling people about his policies and things that he will improve in the country. While John McCain wants oil prices to become five doallers a gallon or more. Barack has actually figured out how to use Cafe renuable fuel that gas stations can sell for two doallers a gallon or less and still make a profit.
Barack Obama is very much raising taxes on the rich but he is lowering taxes on the poor and it's not just government issues he's using the money for but he is using the money also for natural disaters. Like the hurricanes that have been hittin g the states ever so often. The taxes will also only be high for a litle while so there's no reason to make a big fuss about it.
Barack Obama will be helping in the healthcare crisis that has been going on for years. He is lowering prices on new drugs and is increasing income for pharmacy workers as well as other jobs. Which in turn will make profits for pharmacies up so they can make more medicine and vacines for people. He is also having doctors do research on new things so we can have cures that we desperatly need for diseases like cancer and aids.
Barack Obama is standing against the prices that are hurting our economy. He will give higher income to teachers so theyn can work longer and harder because we are losing teachers around america bnecause they have such msmall salaris that they can find better work anywhere. He is also giving more money to schools so they can buy new textbooks and materials to use to help improve education and our economy's future.
Barack has been trying to get the troops out of Iraq because we are losing soldiersm every day for no good reason and if we pullt hem out it will make families happier. He also is prepared for anything if they try to pull off another nine eleven so there's really no reason to keep our troops in Iraq.

Reflection

By: Joe
My role in the campaign is important because it tells the people what the candidate's ideas are for America. It is vital for the campaign because without the speechwriter the candidate will probably have to right his own speeches. If this would happen that might cost the candidate valuable time at fundraisers and other things. It was nessary to coordinate with other members of the team because I couldn't do my part without the policy writer because I needed to know what the candidate believed. I needed to coordinate with the campaign manager because I needed to know what the candidates life was.

I learned what Obama stands for. I also learned about what he thinks on the issues. It is important because you need to know what the candidates will do if they get elected. I would describe this project as fun. I can help my campaign team get a lot of good comments and not to make my candidate look bad. It is good to cooperate with my team members because they could turn on me and vote against me. This is an accomplishment because they are my friends and they would not be mad at me. I did not know what his middle name was, I did not know were he was born, I did not know what his kids names were, I did not know he had kids, I did not know were he was senator for. These are important to know because you want to find out more about the person you are talking about. I would say the project was fun and you should try it because you can write what you think about the president that you think will get elected for president you also get your article on the Internet. The most vital part of my job is not to make him look like a fool. It was important to communicate to my team to see if they think it makes him look bad. I accomplished this by keeping a open my of what they think. Five things I learned and are important to know about him is, that he was born in Honolulu. This is important to know because he must know what it is like for all the people of Americans. Another one is that he was a Graduate From Columbia and Harvard University. These two Collages has very good education. Also he is the senator of Illinois. It is also good because He has worked with the Government and knows the people who will get the job done right, and know that America is falling apart. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago, so he must know something about the law and what bill should be pasted and what not to be pasted. he worked as a community organizer and practiced civil rights attorney, so he is good with public speeches to talk about what he will fix. If I was to explain this project to someone outside school I would say I had make a short biography about how he is important. After that I would say I would have to answer about how I'm important and stuff like. This project will help me be a batter voter by now knowing what matter in an election.

biography by Alex

Barack Obama was born on Auugust 4, 1961. The first issue is education, my plan is to provide critical support to young children and their parents. Challenge grants to promote state ''Zero to five efforts and help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school. Biden and I will Quadruple for both.

My plan for new energy is to help create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over- the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future. Ensure 10 percent of our electricty comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25 percent by 2025.

My plan to help health care and the congresses plan will cover all essential medical services, including preventive, maternity and metal health care. Affordable premiums and simplified paper work in health costs.

My plan for taxes/economy is me and Biden will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Me and Biden will create a new ''Making work pay'' tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family.

My plan to protect Social Security benefits current and future beneficiaries alike. As part of a bipartisan plan that would be phased in over many years, they will ask those making over $250,000 to contribute a bit more to Social Security to keep it sound.

Speech Writer By: Joe

Hello my fellow Americans. I am Barack Obama and I am running for president. I was born in Honolulu and graduated from Columbia University and I got a masters at Harvard. My plan for America is to raise taxes on the rich and drop them on the poor. I will also drop taxes on on senior citizens.McCain will just drop taxes on the rich and raise them on the poor. This wouldn't help the economy it would just hurt young hard working American families. I will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 50 million workers and tax relief they need. I will create a "making work plan" tax credit of up to 500$ per person, or 1000$ per family

I will cover all essential medical services, including preventive, maternity and metal health care. I will lower the prices on drugs, medicines, and vaccines. I will also raise salaries for pharmacy's workers and medical majors.

I will protect social security benefits current and future beneficence alike. As part of bipartisan plan that would be phased in over many years. I will ask those making $250,000to contribute a bit more to social security. John McCain will just bring more of the same that has been happening for the past eight years. If you elect me for president I will bring real change to America and its families.

speech by Jensen

Hello I am Barack Obama and I am a candidate for our country. First I will talk about our issues in the U.S. Second I will tell you about some of my backround.

Economy/ Taxes:If I am elected president I will implement a 21st century economic agenda to help ensure that Americacan completein a global economy, and ensure the middle class is thriving and growing. I shall increase all investments in infrastructure. Our greater opportunity relief to more Americans with implement trade policies benefit American workers.

Education: I think that america's history education has been social economic mobility opportunity to over millions of younger people. If I am in the white house the schools should prepare students not only to meet there goals in life, also to help students take place as committed citizens around the world. I think that the schools should have advanced classes for the ones who want it.

Energy: I Barack Obama am all for the energy in the U.S. I have been a leader in pushing for a fantastic energy policy. It has introdued a very high number of bills. I think that if we want more energy we have to recycle more.

Healthcare: I believe that every American has the right to pay for healthcare or to work it off. I think it is sad that millions of Americans who can't take care of thier children when they are sick. Right now is the perfect chance to turn that around. Around the rough areas we need to build hospitals.

John McCain says that he is all for guns, but when he says that he does not know what he is doing. So he says everybody can have a gun, so if a 13 year old had a gun and he is showing off for his friends he could kill him self or someone else.

I went to harvard law school most people say that it is impresive, also went to university of Columbia and also taught at contitutional law at the University of Chicago.

Policies by Matt

Barack Obama is focused on many issues in the country and the world. Every year it seems like fewer people are registering to vote and even though they register, they don’t get out to vote. How many times have you heard “my vote won’t matter”! As we work to educate the future leaders of our country, it is important that we teach them that their votes will count. If students can discover how to learn about the candidates so that they can make an informed decision, they may feel more comfortable with voting. Our first major technology project for this year will focus on the campaign for President and Vice President. Our work will help students to understand things like political speeches, party platforms, and the process of running a major campaign. I hope this work will lead to lots of interesting discussions at home. Obviously, the children will hear about the process because the media is flooded with this information! What a perfect opportunity to teach them how to sift through the information for fact and fiction in order to be better informed.

I look forward to reading their views as they work together to fashion a campaign for the candidate of their choice. Keep watching here in the coming days as their ideas begin to be posted here.
